DR. SARAH BLACKWELL
Veterinarian
Dr. Sarah Blackwell was born and raised in Matthews, North Carolina. She graduated from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. She continued her education at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, completing a large animal medicine and surgery internship. Her hobbies include working out, fishing, and spending time with her family and pets.
DR. KEVIN SCRUGGS
Veterinarian
Dr. Kevin Scruggs hails from the great city of Detroit, MI. He graduated and then ventured to Alabama to complete undergraduate and veterinary school at Tuskegee University. Afterward, Dr. Scruggs headed to Houston, TX to pursue his veterinary medicine career. He honed his skills beside various mentors in small animal clinics and shelter facilities. After years of experience, Dr. Scruggs decided to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship with Dr. Blackwell and soon with Dr. Prioleau. It has always been a dream of Dr. Scruggs that has now come to fruition. He is excited to expand Ark Veterinary Services into a mixed animal practice.
DR. DERRICK PRIOLEAU
Veterinarian
Dr. Derrick Prioleau was born and raised in South Carolina. He is a proud alumnus of Morehouse College and Tuskegee University Veterinary School. An outstanding career in texas has grown into a return to the Carolinas. in addition to saving animals, Dr. Prioleau loves to save his core. The simplest way to Dr. Prioleau’s core is the largest saltiest bowl of movie popcorn on any given day or night.
Kaylee Mixon
Office Manager
Kaylee Mixon was born and raised in Sumter, SC. She is currently attending Central Carolina Technical College and will graduate with her Associate in Management in December 2023. She plans to continue school at University of South Carolina where she will receive her BS in Business Management. When Kaylee is not doing her school work, she loves to spend time with her family and friends.
SHELBY BEAUDET
Office Manager
Shelby Beaudet was born and raised in Sumter, SC. She is a graduate of Erskine College with a B.S. Degree in Special Education. When she is not teaching her own herd at school, she enjoys reading or finding crafts to work on. Shelby grew up as a member in 4H which awarded her the opportunity to work with and show livestock for over 18 years!
Britney Belinski
Veterinary assistant
Britney Belinski is from Sumter, SC. She is currently enrolled online in Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician Program. Outside of work she loves to go hiking and hangout with her dogs Munch, Chaos and Kuncklehead. She also really does loves animals regardless of what Brandi says.
BRANDI SOWELL
Veterinary Assistant
Brandi Sowell is from Florence, South Carolina. She attended The University of South Carolina, go Gamecocks. Brandi brings a vast array of medical training to Ark Veterinary Services LLC. She previously was a pharmacy technician, veterinary surgery assistant, and shelter coordinator. Brandi loves rescuing animals and vacationing at Disney World.
Kahli Grubbs

Kahli Grubbs was born and raised in Manning, SC. Kahli is currently attending the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program. Some of Kahli’s favorite hobbies are rescuing unwanted animals and loving them to the fullest. Kahli loves to work with others and learn new ways to conduct as a better technician. She is extremely huggable and short.

Harlee Newman was born in Sumter Sc and attends Penn Foster veterinary technician program. She loves to spend time with her horses and ride her dirtbike. Oh and her possum Fred.
Kelly Tabarez
Veterinary Assistant
Kelly Tabarez was born and raised in New York City. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Pre-Medicine and minored in Spanish at Grand Canyon University in Arizona. She has 3 dogs and 1 tortoise. In her free time, she enjoys playing sand volleyball, watching TV/movies, and trapping feral cats for Trap, Neuter, Release! She’s hoping to gain experience working with exotics and large animals to further her veterinary career.

Alina Goizueta was born and raised in Miami and moved to Charlotte late 2022. Growing up with cats, dogs, birds, and other exotics; she has always had a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. She has pets of her own which include her 2 cats Louie and Mabel, and her snake Stewie. Her hobbies include playing video games, baking, and going fishing with Mabel.

Veterinary Assistant Lead
Taylor Stokes is from Philadelphia but has lived in North Carolina for the past 10 years and just over a year ago moved to Charlotte. She has one dog but frequently fosters animals in need for local Charlotte rescues. Taylor has a love for large animal veterinary care and has dreams to go to Vet school at University of Florida. In her free time her favorite thing to do is attend Carolina Panthers games. She is excited to further her career with Ark Veterinary Hospital.
Shalia Notice
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Shalia Notice’s was born in New York. She finished her high school years in Virginia and decided to move to North Carolina for college. She received her undergraduate Bachelor's of Arts and Science in Biology and Spanish from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2020 and then obtained her Associates degree in Veterinary technology to become a licensed technician from CCCC in 2023. She plans to start applying to vet schools in 2024. (Positive vibes welcome!)
Her hobbies include volunteering, spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, binge watching tv, napping, enjoying nature and anything music related.
